Enjoy a weekend teeming with live music by wandering musicians, the Brigands and the Bawdy Buccaneers. Shop for artisan crafts along merchants row, hear and feel the roar of the great guns and mingle with the captains and crews of the high seas.
Fort Taylor was constructed in 1845 and served as a Union fortress during the American Civil War. But now, we are taking the "literary license" to transform the fortress into an English stronghold in South Florida. While a fortress did not exist here during the Golden Age of Piracy, our goal is to provide our visitors with a flavor of what it might have been like had there been a fortress here and had pirates been shipwrecked on Cayo Hueso. Fort Taylor is located at the end of Southard St. reached by going through the Truman Annex.
